30 Day Self-Care Challenge #selfishin2k18

This time of year can get really exhausting. People’s schedules get really busy with preparing for the summer, graduation and then, BAM! Summer is here and your schedule fills up with outdoor events, vacations, reunions, weddings…. My chest is getting tight just thinking about all this. It’s too much for someone like me. I am a planner down to my very core, and my schedule is feeling very people-y, which makes me stress out for months prior to the event.

For me, this time of year means Beltane is upon us, and it is hands down my favorite holiday/celebration. Beltane is a spring sabbat, from Celtic roots that marks the halfway point between the Spring and Summer Equinox. I always take this time to release the things from the last year and manifest what I want for the coming year. I do a ribbon ceremony as an offering and energetic exchange & nudge to get my manifestations going.

In order to see clearly when I’m getting ready for Beltane, I like to take time to do some deep self-care, self-inventory and self-love. About a month ago I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do this year, and honestly wondering if I really had the time for this tradition this year.

As if the universe knew exactly what I needed, I got a break between my online LimeLight events in my Mystic Beauty group, so I decided to take a poll about what they wanted to see next in the group. Self-care tips, aside from skin care & makeup, was their top choice. They also wanted to learn more about grounding and manifesting, and there were a couple who wanted to do crystals. I have two blogs on crystals thus far and hope to do another one soon about how to utilize them in this challenge.

I was searching for self-care tips for myself when it hit me. I need to let people join me on this challenge and invite women to follow along with me. Every time I do women’s circles or events I am blown away at how healing the connection is. I know there are many of us who get worried when coming together with a group of women, because some of us can be catty, well we all can. But when we are coming together in this type of way, with this type of energy, the cattiness is set aside, its a safe place where we all support each other, regardless of how we stand with one another outside of the event.

These are safe places to talk about where you are at in life, what you need to work on, manifest and let go. Judgement will not be tolerated.

I have come up with 41 options for a 30 day Self-Care Challenge. I tried to keep as many of them as possible to things that are easy to do, don’t cost a lot of money, and don’t take a lot of time. They can all be squeezed into your schedule at the end of the night before bed, or you can set aside a certain amount of time everyday. It is completely up to you how deep you go with this. Don’t feel bad if one night it takes you three minutes an the next night takes an hour, the process is all yours. Journaling is amazing for me and I think getting yourself a notebook to dedicate to this experience would be so therapeutic. I have an extreme compulsion to buy notebooks, I am always looking for an excuse to buy a new one. I really like the glittery ones from the dollar store! I buy them for all my Beauty Guides, it’s important to have notebooks dedicated to certain things, right? 😂

I am going to attempt to journal about my challenge every night, an exorcise in self-accountability. I am realistic that every night may not happen, but I am going to try to document it as much as I can, and share my journey with you. Don’t be shy, reach out to me, share, comment, connect. This isn’t just for you to do on your own, this is for you to come together with like-minded women to empower each other to be more mindful and supportive. If you are a solo kind of person, push yourself out of your shell, just a little, tiny bit; if just joining the group, or following the challenge is a big step for you, that’s still a step in the right direction.
